Two First Places and one Second at Greenwich BMX Cub Race

      26 of May 2013

Great performance of Tower Hamlets riders today at Greenwich BMX track. Despite not having transport to Greenwich this morning some of the riders made their way with the help of our neighbor club Hackney BMX. This was a friendly local race but very important to prepare to the Youth Games next month. With only a handful of riders at the race it was a great achievement for the club coming home with two first places medals and one second.

Tower Hamlets BMX - CLub of The Year 2013

Last Friday Tower Hamlets BMX has been named as the London Club of the Year in a glittering ceremony at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground.

"Tower Hamlets BMX Club has been a fantastic example of a community sports club since it's foundation in late 2011. In 2012 alone the club reached over 800 young people from all over the borough  with 85 of those coming on a regular weekly basis. Up until September 2012 the club was operating without access to it's own BMX track. Regardless, the club volunteers meet every Saturday and rode over two miles to the Haggerston BMX track. The club play a major part within the community, running school holiday activities, major events and played a  key role ion the creation of the new BMX track in Mile Par. Since the opening of the new track, the club now runs 10 sessions per week, catering for all abilities, including women and girl, disability groups and pupil referral units.

Tower Hamlets BMX -Bow Boys BMX Club

Tower Hamlets BMX is on the news again, and again,  with Bow Boys BMX Club.  Bow Boys BMX club was created after a few taster sessions promoted within the school by Access Sport and Sustrans and delivered at the Mile End BMX track.  Kids loved it very much and this was reflected in their behaviour at school which changed considerably for the better. It was such a great change that Mr Dan Pitt, PE teacher at Bow Boys, decided that it would be a great idea to start after school sessions in partnership with Tower Hamlets BMX and Sustrans.
